Boats on the Air was created by members of the San Francisco Radio Club to combine two passions: boating and ham radio! Following in the footsteps of successful activation platforms such as SOTA and POTA, this program is still in its early stages and will continue to develop over time. Included in the roadmap is an awards program, real-time vessel tracking, and spotting tools.
Join us to activate any floating object on any body of water. In addition to being a fun activity, it is hoped that Boats on the Air will further emergency preparedness and experimentation with amateur radio.
